As of my last knowledge update in January 2024,. Here’s a general overview of Nepal visa information:

Visa Types:

  • Tourist Visa: For tourism purposes.
  • Business Visa: For business-related activities.
  • Non-Tourist Visa: For reasons other than tourism and business, such as study, work, or diplomatic assignments.

Visa on Arrival:

  • Nepal offers a visa on arrival facility for citizens of many countries at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and other entry points.
  • Travelers can obtain a visa on arrival by filling out an application form and paying the required fee in cash (USD or local currency).

Online Visa Application:

  • Nepal has an online visa application system. Travelers can apply for a visa in advance through the official website of the Department of Immigration of Nepal.

Visa Fees:

  • The visa fees vary depending on the duration of stay and the purpose of the visit.
  • Fees are typically higher for multiple-entry visas and for longer durations.

Visa Extension:

  • Tourists can extend their visa within Nepal if needed. This can be done at the Immigration Office in Kathmandu or other major cities.
  • Extensions are usually granted for a maximum of 150 days in a visa year (January to December).

Passport Requirements:

  • Travelers should have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Nepal.

Visa-Free Entry:

Citizens of certain countries are eligible for visa-free entry for short durations. However, it’s crucial to check the latest updates to confirm eligibility.

Exit Requirements:

  • Visitors should exit Nepal before the expiry of their visa unless they have obtained an extension.

Always check with the official website of the Department of Immigration of Nepal or consult the nearest Nepalese embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date information on visa requirements, fees, and regulations. Additionally, travel advisories and entry requirements may change due to unforeseen circumstances, so it’s advisable to stay informed before planning any travel.
